Eventually Michelle was able to prove that she was no longer a risk to her safety or her child’s. Once Kaulyn was born Michelle primarily raised him on her own only requiring her parents assistance in a lesser degree. She was determined to make a life for her red haired baby boy. When she turned eighteen and secured a job Michelle got an apartment and set up a home for herself and Kaulyn. She used to take him to the park and play with him; she would read to him and sing him lullabies. She was a decent mother. She wasnt perfect but she was trying. That was until Kaulyn was six years old and his life changed forever. He had woken up for school in the morning on morning of December 2, 1995 to find his mother lying in her bed surrounded by pill bottles. Still in his pajamas he made his way to the neighbors across the hall and pulled them in to try to wake up his mother.
Jocelyn and David Pearson came to the rescue of their young grandbaby and his even younger baby brother whom had been screaming in his crib. They were whisked away to live in the very home that Michelle had lived her entire life. They lead a very happy life, not ever talking about what had happened with their mother. The Pearson parents tried their hardest to have the boys remember the good times and that their mother loved them. No one would talk about the history of mental health issues and the fact that both boys seemed to have inherited their mothers mental issues. It wasnt until Kaulyn was in middle school when his guidance counselor noticed something was wrong with the boy. That was the point where Jocelyn and David placed Kaulyn and his younger brother into therapy to work through their harbored issues. This just made Kaulyn open a whole new chapter in his life.
Speaking about how he felt and the anger that had been harboring made his mind start to schism. At home he felt that he was a nice, good and attentive young man who was grateful for the life he had. But outside of the four walls of the Pearson home he was angry; hate filled and needed to fill a void in his life. Kaulyn began hanging out with the wrong crowd. He began letting his grades slip, skipping school, smoking cigarettes, and starting fights with everyone and everyone. His misbehavior escalated quickly, he turned to alcohol and experimenting with drugs. He began being not only sexually active but quite promiscuous. He didnt use protection and felt he was beneath the lifestyle that his grandparents had set out for him.
At the age of fifteen, of his Shannon an on/off ex of his came to him and let him know that they were expecting his child. Kaulyn was caught off guard by this news because he never saw himself as fulfilling the role of a father. But he stayed by her side through the entire pregnancy and on December 14th, 2004 the two of them welcomed into the world a young son by the name of Raven Joshua Pearson. Kaulyn dropped out of high school to try to provide for his son and his mother the best he could, at first he flipped burgers and took temp jobs but that became too much of a strain on him. At the age of 18 he found himself in a bit of trouble. He was arrested for stealing; this was the first of many arrests in young Kaulyn’s future many of which were related to theft, burglary and drugs. His last stint behind bars he obtained his GED and decided to turn his life around for his son.
After having several toxic on/off relationships, often overlapping on another; Kaulyn decided to settle down with a beautiful tattooed covered goddess. He was in love with the woman and she had no love for him whatsoever. Truth be told he didn’t even know if the woman knew how to show any kind of affection other than lying on her back. That had become apparent when the two of them became parents to a beautiful little girl named Sierra Michelle Pearson who was born on March 12th, 2012. Her mother had abandoned her in the hospital and cut off all contact with Kaulyn. He had thought that he was building a life with the woman but she refused to even hold the child for fear of having any kind of intimacy in her life. Kaulyn changed and rearranged his life for the little girl whom he was now raising on his own.
After the birth of Sierra, Kaulyn was offered a chance to move out to New York City and explore further options with his comedic venture. He had been leery of leaving the state and city that he had lived in for his entire life. Not only because it was his only home but because he had his son to think of as well as his love interest. He decided to accept the offer and uprooted himself and his daughter and move to Hells Kitchen, Manhattan, New York where he had become part of a comedy troupe and had high hopes of going on SNL one day. He held regrets, fears and disbelief but at least he had an internet connection to keep in contact with his son as well as someone who he had left back in Chicago whom was very special to him, Dylan Yarham.
Dylan and Kaulyn were two very like minded individuals; they met in a gay bar that they both frequented in Chicago. Kaulyn went there to support a friend of his who was working there. They hit it off and even though Kaulyn claimed that he was straight he began expressing feelings for Dylan. He knew he couldnt be with him in a romantic sense but had no issue sleeping with the man. Quickly this occasional hook up became a regular hook up and then it blossomed into something more. They were dating even if they both belonged to other people they were the ones who knew so much about each other. The day he left for New York he had assumed he would never see Dylan again and it broke his heart. Knowing he had refused to leave Chicago and come with him he sent him texts, emails and had skype and facetime sessions with Dylan until the fateful day he heard a knock on his door and it was Dylan on the other side. Now the two of them live together and are openly very committed to each other. Kaulyn still is pursuing his dream of being a comedy genius and does freelance art work on the side to try to even out the income since he feels terrible that Dylan is the bread winner of the family and he doesnt have to be.
In the Spring of 2015 after finding out that Dylan's biological father was residing in upstate Astoria, Queens New York Kaulyn and his husband discussed in great detail about the possibility of relocating. Kaulyn reached out to employers in the area and Dylan put in for a transfer a nearby store. The couple took a few trips out there with their young daughter in order to view apartments and do interviews. They finally landed on a three bedroom rental home in the Sleepy Hollow area that had been their first choice of areas due to their very hipster friendly ways. Kaulyn had even did a few shows to establish himself in the local comedy scene. In late summer of 2015 the couple relocated and Kaulyn picked up a job as an Apple At Home Advisor. The couple and their daugher Sierra are still adjusting to life and are welcoming of new friends! Since moving to Astoria, Queens New York they have taken on Raven full time.
Kaulyn has a personality that of a natural leader and can be overflowing with confidence, audacity and high levels of energy. Though his personality is open to change and new experiences and he can often be single-minded and self-obsessed. The chase is often more exciting than the end result. Kaulyn thrives on challenge and believes that he can conquer the world. Often he feels insecure underneath the external boasting, others are rarely aware of it. He is a generous provider and loves to be acknowledged for this trait. Others love being around him because of the enthusiasm that he carries with him. On the reverse, Kaulyn can also be obstinate, egotistical, inconsiderate and prone to pursue goals simply because they're there. Kaulyn often lacks tact due to his spontaneous nature. People don't always like his bossiness and can be afraid to cross him while arguing.
